Every Oil we Use in Our Soaps and the Reason Behind it

Have you wondered what oils we use in our soaps and the reason we use them? After six years of trying different oils, these are the four that we use and love!

  • Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is used in soap for its ability to produce a rich and bubbly lather. It is also known for being nourishing and moisturizing to the skin. Another wonderful property of coconut oil is that it contains fatty acids known for their antibacterial and antifungal properties. This helps to remove dirt and oil without stripping your skin's natural oils!

  • Olive Oil

Olive oil is known for being gentle yet moisturizing, making it suitable for every skin type. I tend to have very sensitive skin, so olive oil is my go-to whenever I am unsure of how my skin will react to something. It is high in vitamins and antioxidants and has wonderful anti-inflammatory properties. Like coconut oil, olive oil is wonderful at cleansing the skin without stripping your skin's natural oils.

  • Sweet Almond Oil

Sweet almond oil has similar properties to both olive oil and coconut oil. It is extremely moisturizing and soothing, and can help calm down irritated skin. Sweet almond oil helps create a creamy lather, which complements the rich, bubbly lather that coconut oil gives.

  • Shea Butter

Shea butter is another moisturizing oil known for being mild and gentle. During the saponification process, it naturally produces glycerin, which helps attract moisture to the skin, and it also creates a hard bar. Shea butter is also high in Vitamins A and E, and it can help calm inflammation.

After perfecting our recipe over six years, we have found that a combination of these oils yields the best lather and moisturization for our bars!
